I wasn't sure what to make of King Sombra when I first saw the season 3 premiere. But he has grown on me quickly, and is probably my favorite of the four major villains now (Discord's not giving up the top slot willingly). Part of that is due to comments I've seen comparing Sombra to Sauron from The Lord of the Rings trilogy. Both are sinister, shadowy forces of evil, who work behind the scenes instead of directly confronting the heroes. Which gave me the idea for the above picture; quite simply a King Sombra version of the Eye of Sauron.

For the record, this is my first creation done only with Inkscape, as opposed to being a vector trace of a scanned sketch as I usually do.

Credit goes to :iconhasbroplz: and :iconfyre-flye: for creating MLP:FiM, and to J.R.R. Tolkien for Middle Earth and all of its beloved denizens.

The Crystal Palace in the background is not my own work. It was extracted from Crystal Palace by :icon3luk:.

Once we got the Crystal Heart, except it's the opposite where we deliver it to the bottom and defeat Sombra. Or maybe like the war at the beginning of the 1st movie.
