F:E Chapter 1 - CMC3BFF

Description

I distracted myself with the errant PipBuck, taking note of an encrypted file. I had spotted it yesterday, figuring it was probably an unfinished new song. I didn’t want to open it then, both out of respect for Velvet Remedy’s privacy and a dislike of spoilers, but I guessed it didn’t matter anymore. The song would never be played.

Opening a pouch on my utility barding, I withdrew an access tool that would allow me to remove the encryption safely and easily. It was a sound file. I played it.

“The override code for opening the door to Stable Two is… CMC3BFF.”

I shot up in surprise at what I had heard. Swiftly, I turned off the radio and played it again. I didn’t recognize the voice. It was female, kinda sweet, and had a strange accent that didn’t sound like anyone in the Stable. But now I knew how Velvet Remedy left.

My first picture for my Fallout: Equestria challenge, as well as my entry for :iconmlp-atg-alumni:'s Week 66 theme: A Pony Learning. As the quote above shows, this is the point where Littlepip learns both the code for the Stable entrance, and how Velvet Remedy managed to get through said door.

This was quite the learning experience for me, as well, as this was the first time I've drawn and colored Littlepip, PipBucks (I forgot Blackjack's in this picture), and Stable interiors, the first first time I've colored Stable clothing, and the first time I've added a speech bubble to one of my vectored creations. Which is why this was uploaded a day later than I had intended. Well, partly at least; being overly Twilight-ish on researching some details for this, and a bit of simple procrastination also delayed things.

Random factoid: I originally planned to give Littlepip yellow eyes, to make my own version a bit distinctive from the usual versions of her. But, while doing some of the aforementioned research, I stumbled upon a comment from somepony stating that he likes green-eyed Littlepip because the color matches the screen of a PipBuck, and thus fits with the idea of being a PipBuck technician. I decided I liked that idea as well.

Picture was hand-drawn, then vector-traced with Inkscape.
Credit goes to :iconhasbroplz: and :iconfyre-flye: for creating MLP:FiM, to Interplay and Bethesda for creating/expanding the Fallout universe, and to :iconinnak: (kkat) for merging these into Fallout: Equestria.
