Description
My view from the rubble pile was somewhat limited, and didn't reveal anything that looked like a market or convenience store; just various houses. Thankfully, it also didn't reveal anything overtly dangerous. So, I got back down and retrieved my saddlebag and railway rifle from the broken ledge I had spent the night on, then cautiously left the ruin behind and made my way down the street.
I approached a nearby house that seemed largely intact, and peeked through the closest window. Inside, I could see the living room of the house, whose furniture and decorations seemed largely undamaged. A door sat on the back wall, not far from the window, and a staircase was situated along the opposite side of the room. Hoping that the door led to a kitchen, I headed towards the back of the house, stopping to look in through the side window. On the plus side, the back room was indeed a kitchen. But on the minus side, I could clearly see that much of the rear wall was gone. I cautiously moved around the corner of the house, and quickly realized that much of the back wall had collapsed into the yard, making the building look somewhat like a giant dollhouse. I headed into the kitchen and checked the refrigerator and cupboards, finding only a box of Sugarcube Corner brand snack cakes. Not exactly highly nutritious, but it was better than nothing. I decided to take a quick look through the rest of the house, to see if anything else of value could be found.
I slowly opened the door to the living room, wincing at the loud squeal it gave off as I did so. After waiting a bit to listen for sounds of movement, I entered the living room and quickly skimmed its contents. Nothing of real value was present; the only portable items being a table lamp, a telephone, and a few empty flower pots. I headed up the stairs, and peeked around the corner into the hallway at the top. A door was situated at the end of the short hallway, with an additional one on either side. The door towards the rear of the house was open, revealing a bathroom that had partially collapsed when the back wall had given way. I avoided this room, unsure of it's stability, and cautiously opened the door on the opposite side of the hall instead. Within was a child's bedroom, an unlikely place to find anything of use to my current situation. However, just as I started to turn away, something caught my eye. It was nothing more than an ancient pony toy, but my eyes teared up as I approached it. It's cutie mark had worn off, and the mane wasn't quite right, but it still bore a strong resemblance to an old friend from pre-war times.

This is my submission for Day 6 of Equestria Daily's Newbie Artist Training Grounds III - Draw a tiny pony/Draw a giant pony. As you can see, I went with both prompts here, drawing a larger-than-usual picture of Nocturne, and a tiny Playful Pony toy. This picture was a bit rushed, as I wanted to have it complete before I went to work due to knowing I would not have scanner access afterwards. As such, I skipped the idea of adding a few more random items on the shelf, and also just straight up forgot to add Nocturne's saddlebag and weapon, and to erase the pencil lines... Edit: I've erased the pencil lines on the picture, rescanned, and uploaded the corrected copy here.
A couple of notes about scale here: First, the toy is actually to scale with Nocturne; this is how big a Playful Pony toy would actually be compared to the cartoon characters themselves, relative to my headcanon at least (the top of Nocturne's head is roughly waist-high to an average human). Second, the toy is about half an inch (1 1/4 centimeters) tall on the paper, which makes it quite tiny indeed.
Credit goes to and for creating MLP:FiM, to Interplay and Bethesda for creating/expanding the Fallout universe, and to Kkat for merging these into Fallout: Equestria.
Special thanks to for creating the NATG event, and to all the people that help to run it.

Individual ponies drawn: 9 (including the toy pony)
=DShou's 100 Drawing by the End of the Year Challenge: 18/100. Number of such pictures currently vectored: 4/100.
