She ran, eyes straining to see the catwalk ahead of her in the dim light emitted by her horn. Behind her, she could hear the hoof-falls of her undead pursuer. She was quickly coming to regret entering this 'abandoned' bunker! Glancing back, she saw the glowing eyes of the ghoul just a short distance behind her; this ghoul was fast! Up ahead, a T-intersection loomed out of the darkness.
Knowing the exit was somewhere to her right, she made a snap decision to turn. She spun quickly through the intersection, her hooves almost skidding out from under her, and left behind the wall she had been following. She quickly came to regret her choice; part of the catwalk had collapsed, leaving a large gap directly in her path. With her pursuer already careening through the intersection, she realized she may have reached a dead-end in every sense of the word.
But then, she caught sight of a severed cable dangling near the fast-approaching end of the catwalk. Taking a cue from those old Daring Do books she liked to read, she launched herself into the air and grabbed the cable between her teeth. As she sailed out over the inky blackness below her, she released the cable, praying that her momentum would carry her safely to the other edge!
My submission for Day 18 of Equestria Daily's Newbie Artist Training Grounds II - A Pony Acrobat or A Stable Pony. The phrase 'Stable Pony' promptly made me think of the Stables of Fallout: Equestria, and I realized I could actually do a picture using both concepts with this theme. Thus, the picture above featuring an ex-Stable dweller swinging acrobatically across a gap. At least, that's what she is hoping for...
Style Experimentation: Posing is much more dynamic than what I've been primarily doing thus far. The stable-dweller's legs came out pretty good here; looks like I'm getting the hang of this part of pony anatomy. Also pony clothing; I like seeing ponies wearing vests/jackets, and was more than happy to try my hand at the Stable jacket here. Created my first feral ghoul pony here. It won't be my last! Finally, my first attempt a writing an actual story. I've got a few fanfic ideas that I may want to write in the future, so getting some practice in is a wise idea.
I've quickly gotten to like this character concept while working on this picture. I'll be looking to develop her into a full-fledged OC in the near future.
