NATGII Day 20 - Draw a transforming pony

My submission for Day 20 of Equestria Daily's Newbie Artist Training Grounds II - A Species-Switched or Transforming Pony. Wait. She's a changeling. Does that count?

If you recognized that last statement, it's because you've seen this picture. Or more importantly, read its description. Yep, this is in fact Ghost, 's changeling OC, who has been (mis)adventuring with Corona and Aurora for much of the NATGII. Here, she is portrayed after her abandonment by her hive, but before being discovered by the aforementioned alicorns. When Rainbow Dash happens to spot her, and promptly drops out of the sky directly in front of her, the timid changeling responds by transforming into the scariest thing she can think of in hopes of scaring the aggressive pony away (so she can safely run away herself). Of course, at that particular moment, the scariest thing she can think of is the very pony who just startled her!

I tried to incorporate both facets of her current mindset into her design here. Her desperate attempt to look dangerous includes sticking her wings up and arcing her tail to appear larger than she really is, as well as snarling as viciously-sounding as she can. Of course, her crouched position, and tail stuck firmly between her legs, show how she's really feeling right now.

Note that, while researching Ghost's appearance, I discovered that she actually lives about a thousand years after the events of the cartoon, so actually meeting Dash is highly unlikely. But, I wanted to utilize a recognizably potent opponent in this picture, rather than a generic OC pony.

Style Experimentations: Trying out legs bent into various positions. Seems to have come out reasonably well. I'm also trying a new mouth style, based on the art style of . I really like the way she draws ponies, and may look to incorporate a couple of her ideas into my own growing style. Dash's mouth came out very nicely, but I think Ghost's is a bit too big for someone who's just supposed to be snarling. And I have, once again, attempted some basic pencil shading, which the scanner has done a reasonable job of picking up.
