I attended BronyCon this weekend, and it was a pretty enjoyable experience overall. I'll post full details later, as today I'm primarily unpacking and resting from the trip. Fan cons aren't exactly conducive to getting a full night's sleep. But attending the con, and meeting several of my online friends there, has given me several more ideas for pictures that I want to create now. Combine that with the in-progress pics that I keep saying I want to work on, and I've got a fair bit of artwork I want to do.
So, I think now is a good time to start a new project. This project will be a relatively straightforward one: Draw and post at least one picture each week until the next BronyCon. I don't know exactly how many pictures this will be, as I don't know the exact date for the next BronyCon (and the staff probably doesn't know yet either), but barring some major change in scheduling this will be somewhere in the neighborhood of 52 pictures. Do note that it doesn't matter what style is used or what theme is followed. Fully vectored pictures with or without backgrounds, colored-line sketches, pics currently half-done, future ATG or NATG themes, silly doodles done just for the heck of it... any of this qualifies! All that matters is that I get something done each week. And I will of course be starting this project this week, specifically with something for the current ATG theme, so watch for that to appear!

Resolutions and Plans for the New Year
It is once again time for the yearly consideration of plans for the upcoming year. So let's get into that, shall we?
A Good Job: This is the most important thing I'm looking to do this year. My work status has been quite chaotic over the past couple of years. After leaving my original job at a local grocery store due to longstanding problems with certain employees, I ended up taking a job at a Walmart. And while this particular store didn't suffer from any of the more extreme problems this chain is often associated with, it was nonetheless a rather less-than-worker-friendly environment, and I moved on rather quickly. My current job is with a
Belated Projects Update
Meant to write this earlier, but work has been quite the energy-draining hassle as of late. But fortunately, that shouldn't last much longer.
But that's not important, as far as this update is concerned. What is important are my plans:
An Ongoing Project - I've been considering my options for this project for a fair bit now. Some game modding? New simfiles? A really big and complex picture? But in the end, I decided to go with a different option: Writing. Because I've come to realize that I have a sizable number of things to write about.
First of all, BronyCon. I've attended this convention four times now, and have only written a report fo
Post-BronyCon Projects Update
BronyCon 2016 has come and gone, and has been an enjoyable experience for me. I will hopefully write up a full account of my trip in the near future, but I haven't exactly been doing a good job of writing such things thus far. But there is one thing related to BronyCon that I do want to write about: The Weekly Art Challenge I've been doing.
The final tally for this challenge is 29 out of 48, which means I actually uploaded at least one picture on 29 of the past 48 weeks, and thus didn't upload anything on 19 of those weeks. And over that time, I had uploaded a total of 39 pictures, starting with this one. So I have unfortunately fallen shor
Data Loss
I've been storing a lot of my art-related files on a USB card so that I can work on stuff on whatever computer I happen to be on at the time. Unfortunately, last night I had that USB card crash on me, resulting in the data becoming corrupted. I had a backup copy of the data on my personal computer, but it was dated August of 2014 (clearly I don't back things up often enough). Which means that I've lost roughly a year-and-a-half of data.
Now, most of the lost data is relatively unimportant; finished pictures can be copied from deviantART, reference screenshots copied again from the wiki, tutorials, music files, and random lolcat pictures can
